On the back of this picture is written, "Phillip & Anna Schmidt (brother of Mother Strauss). This picture was in collection of pictures that had been in the posession of a daughter of Christian [1865-1948] & Katharina (Schmidt) Strauss [1871-1943]. Philipp Wilhelm Schmidt was Katharina (Schmidt) Strauss's brother.

Philipp Wilhelm Schmidt was the Grandson of the immigrant Karl Christian Franz Fredrich Boßecker [1813-1870]
